My eyes flutter open, but I promptly shut them again. I’m tired and don’t want to wake up yet. This bed is comfy, and hearing the waves hit the shore outside is relaxing. Last night with Monique was amazing. The first time we slept together a couple of nights ago was good, but last night… just wow. Who knew Monique and I would have such incredible chemistry?

Wait…

I open my eyes again and see a different picture hanging on the wall. I roll over and find Monique asleep beside me. I’m in her room, not mine. I fell asleep here.

This wouldn't be an issue if we weren’t trying to keep our fling a secret from our families. However, the light through the crack in the curtains tells me the sun is coming up, and I don’t want anyone to see me leaving Monique’s hut.

I rub my eyes, then get out of bed. I grab my phone on the nightstand and see it’s barely six o’clock. I’m sure no one in our families will be up yet. I haven’t woken up this early since being in Belize, and I wonder if I’ll be greeted with an unbelievable sunrise when I leave Monique’s room.

After dinner last night, I came back to Monique’s room with her. It seems impossible for us to keep our hands off each other, and I craved her again. The sex is so good between us, it’s unbelievable. I want to savor it while we’re here in Belize because I know our time together has an expiration date. Before we know it, we’ll be returning to our own lives, thousands of miles apart.

Monique stirs as I get dressed. Just as I pull my shirt over my head, she wakes up. “What time is it?” she asks, her voice sounding dazed.

“Just after six,” I reply, looking for my flip-flops. “I fell asleep with you.”

“Oh,” she says, yawning. She sits up and looks at me. “It should be fine. I’m sure no one else is up yet.”

I find my flip-flops, which got kicked under the bed, and slide them onto my feet. “Yeah, I’m sure I’m in the clear.”

Although it’s fairly dark in the room, I can still see Monique’s beautiful face. I walk around to her side of the bed, and her eyes look up to meet mine. I don’t want to leave without kissing her goodbye even though I’ll see her again in a few short hours. I wish I didn’t have to leave now.

I lean down and kiss her. “I’ll see you soon.”

“Okay,” she says and yawns again.

I kiss her forehead, then turn to leave. As soon as I move the curtain back to open the sliding glass door, I observe the most gorgeous sunrise I’ve ever seen. She has to see this. “Monique, look at this,” I say, holding the curtain open for her to view.

She slowly sits up to look, and as soon as her eyes adjust to the beautiful sight, she gasps. “Oh my gosh.” She gets out of bed and walks over to join me at the door.
